1. What this service is

SOPHOS AI is a study aid operated by ABC Ministries. It searches a collection of teaching material and scripture and uses an artificial intelligence language model to compose answers from what it finds.

2. Answers are generated, and can be wrong

This is the most important thing on this page. Answers are produced by a language model. They may be incomplete, may misread the material, and may occasionally state something confidently that is not correct.

Verify scripture against your own Bible. The system is built to quote verses from its source material rather than from memory, and it is designed to say so when it does not have something. Those safeguards reduce error; they do not eliminate it. Do not treat a generated answer as authoritative on a point of doctrine without checking it.

3. Not a substitute for pastoral care or professional advice

Nothing here is spiritual counsel, medical advice, legal advice, or mental-health care. If you are in crisis or need help, speak to your pastor, a qualified professional, or an emergency service. This tool cannot assess your situation and should never be relied on in place of a person.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

use the service unlawfully, or to harass, deceive, or harm anyone;
attempt to gain unauthorised access to the system, its data, or other users' conversations;
try to extract the underlying material in bulk, or use automated means to scrape it;
deliberately attempt to make the system produce false scripture or misrepresent the teaching material, or present its output as though it were verified teaching when it has not been checked;
overload or disrupt the service.

5. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for what happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised. We may suspend an account that is being used in breach of these terms.

6. Content and ownership

The teaching material, sermons and study resources in this system remain the property of ABC Ministries and their respective authors, and are made available here for personal study. Scripture quotations are drawn from public-domain or duly licensed texts. You may use answers for your own study and teaching preparation. You may not republish the underlying material as your own or redistribute it commercially without permission.

7. Availability

The service is provided as it stands, without any guarantee of availability, uninterrupted operation, or fitness for a particular purpose. We may change, suspend or discontinue it at any time.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ABC Ministries and the operators of this site are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the service, including any reliance placed on a generated answer. You use it at your own risk.

9. Privacy

Our handling of your information is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. Note in particular that your questions are sent to third-party services outside South Africa for processing.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
